Homes on the Hill CDC will hold a free workshop focusing on financial management for homeowners. The class will include advice on how to use home equity responsibly and when it is advantageous to refinance, as well as tips on saving money, developing and using a household budget, and paying off debt.
Presenters will include Insight Bank Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending Marianne Collins, and Homes on the Hill staff. Homes on the Hill housing counselors will also be present to consult individually with homeowners.
This class is free and open to the public; all are welcome and encouraged to attend. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch. The workshop may meet the educational requirements for some refinancing programs. To register or for more information, please call Homes on the Hill at 614-275-4663.
Homes on the Hill Community Development Corporation received a grant from National Council of La Raza in March of 2007 to develop and implement a post-purchase education program that focuses on helping current homeowners maintain and thrive in their homes.
The classes in this program will be two hours in duration and will focus on a variety of topics, including home maintenance and repair, refinance options and home equity, saving and budgeting for homeowners, and energy efficiency. Homes on the Hill will hold three of the workshops this year and plans to begin conducting the classes in Spanish in spring 2008.
