Fannie Mae Introduces Mortgage Workout Option Designed to Help Delinquent Borrowers

Fannie Mae is working to alleviate the housing crisis by offering a new option called HomeSaver AdvanceTM.

HomeSaver Advance is designed to help qualified borrowers bring delinquent mortgages current and keep their homes. With HomeSaver Advance, servicers can now offer an unsecured, personal loan that will enable a qualified borrower to cure the payment default on a mortgage loan that Fannie Mae owns or has securitized, with fewer up-front costs and generally in less time.

I go to the IRS website at least once a week because someone is always asking questions I’d never thought of before and sure enough the answer is almost always there. And then last week I read an article on how to get your rebate faster and lo and behold there was something I had missed that would directly affect me!

Don't Overlook These Tax Breaks

With just over a week to finish up our 2007 Form 1040s, all of us late-season filers are starting to get serious.

Many are in good shape, despite the late date. They have all the data and documentation they need; it's just a matter of entering the info and sending it to the IRS.

Others are a little less organized, but still plan to make the April 15 deadline.

Loan Servicers Sign Compacts to Assist Ohioans in Avoiding Foreclosure

Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray today joined Governor Ted Strickland and Department of Commerce Director Kimberly Zurz in announcing that nine mortgage loan servicers agreed to sign a “Compact to Help Ohioans Preserve Homeownership,” the first agreement of its kind in the nation.
