  • If you would like to know who owns an abandoned home in your neighborhood, call your County Auditor or visit their website. A Directory of County Auditors can be obtained by accessing the County Auditors ' Association of Ohio website www.caao.org or you may call (614) 228-2226.
  • If you would like to know where the tax bill for a property is being sent, call your County Treasurer or visit their website. A Directory of County Treasurers can be obtained by accessing the County Treasurers Association of Ohio website www.ctao.com or you may call (614) 517-5072.
  • If you wish to report a problem associated with an abandoned property owned by a financial institution, please use the attached list in Excel format. (Last updated January 11, 2008. This document is subject to change.)
  • If you have an adjustable rate mortgage and are looking to refinance, you might want to consider checking out the following programs. The Opportunity Loan Refinance Program, www.ohiohome.org , and FHA Secure Program, http://www.fha.gov/about/fhasfact.cfm , are government programs that work with lenders to encourage loans for people that have been adversely affected by adjustable rate mortgages.
  • If you are unable to work it out with your lender, call one of the following:

    • HUD-approved housing counselor, call 800-569-4287.
    • Consumer Credit Counseling Service, call 800-355-2227.
    • If available in your community, Call 211 for Information and Referral, a service that enables people to make informed decisions about accessing community resources including foreclosure help.
